Community

I always have say; that is better give than receive. This past weekend, I was serving in a retreat at my church and was just great! It is good feel that you are helping others. I spend some time alone with Jesus, thing that I never did before; I mean just Him and me. I thought that will be boring or even scary because of the time of the day, but was just perfect! Even that I did not hear Him literally speaking, I did feel His presence in that room. I still try to understand how I could not notice Him before??? I guess because He was waiting for my invitation.

I can understand why people feel alone, desperate, depress, and other sad feelings. When you feel that you are part of something that make the difference, when you participated of community activities, and people see you and they are happy to see you and they know your name, that is just amazing! I have to say that I am terrible remembering faces and names (my mom’s fault), but with the same joy they talk to me I talk to them. I learn that people need to feel that they are part of something to feel happy, and now I am witness of that, feels good be part of a community, feels good that when you feel sad, alone or desperate you have options available for you, specially in a good community that listen to you, help you, and just share good and bad moments with you.

It is amazing see how God work in some people and how they shine in His name. They are the kind of people that I will make sure be around all the time, that kind of people do not still your peace, they contagious their light and joy to you. If you feel that you are not part of something good I encourage you to try, I bet that there is more to win about being part of something than lose.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Big Hug,
MRM
